A Typical Day
FUN AND CHALLENGING
Typical day activities
A friendly face welcomes children and parents at the door. Children then come into the hall and find their name to post in our big red post box. Children then have free play, children can choose to get messy with the paint or our messy activity of the week or play in our physical area (bikes) to burn off some energy! Children can also sit and draw or colour pictures in the mark making area or even sit and do a puzzle or play a game. They can play with construction toys or small world or dress up in our role play area. Children may choose to go outside and play with sand, water or climb up into the Wendy house or the children may choose to be a pirate in our lovely wooden pirate ship. After free play children then help to tidy up the toys and then wash their hands for snack time. Snack time is a lovely time for children to chat in their key worker groups and have little tasters of food. Snack could consist of potatoes, rice, pasta, sandwich, or even a pizza made by the children themselves. After snack children will then have free play again or sometimes we may have a sports session. During this time we may do group activities of games. Then just before home time children help tidy up after a fun packed morning . Children then have story time or sing some songs before parents or carers pick them up after a busy morning.
First Day Activities
AN EXCEPTIONAL LEARNING EXPERIENCE
Your child will meet their keyperson, who will be their special person during their time at Pre-School. They will show you where to put their bag and coat and show you how to post their name in the big red post box. They will then introduce them to the array of activities available for them to play with that day. If Mum, Dad’s or Carers wish they may stay and play for a while or go when they wish. Their keyperson will support them throughout the first few sessions and during their time at pre-school they are also there to support Mum’s and Dad’s. When possible at the first session we will try and phone Mum or Dad to let them know how their child is getting on during their first session. The routine is free play, so they decide what they do and what they play with.
